Karen, Green Turtle Cay, 2012

So you found my new blog and clicked on this page and you might be wondering… Why should I read this blog? What makes her special?

Well, I have a confession to make:

I’m not special. No more than you. I’m just a regular Aussie mum (that’s “mom” for all you Americans) and a freelance writer who smiles a lot. But smiling hasn’t always come easy…

In 2008 my life fell apart. One thing after another went wrong in such an improbable chain of calamities that it might have been almost funny if it didn’t hurt so much. You might have experienced this in your life too.

Finally, after two years of stress and struggle, I vowed to change my life. I sold most of my possessions, packed a few bags and moved with my husband and children to a tiny tropical island. Stripping away stuff and following my dreams set me free. It helped me find peace and joy. And you can do this too.

During this time, I learned many powerful lessons, lessons that changed my life. I call them my Light Living Lessons because they helped me “see the light” and focus on what truly matters. And they helped me feel light. I began to feel happy and free.

Now I’d like to share these Light Living Lessons with you…

Why? Because one of the Lessons I learned is that giving and receiving are really the same. Giving can make others happy and it can make you happy too.

So join me. Open your mind. Breathe deeply. Smile.

I hope my stories help you on your path to a simple, happy life.

  1. I love your blog and I love that you are living, growing and learning from some of the very people I have found and treasure. I wish you light, love and happiness in your quest! You deserve all three.

    • Thank you so much for your kind words. I just visited your blog and love your writing. Organic gardening is something I am trying to learn more about and I thank you for helping me on this path. I look forward to reading more of your posts. Congratulations on your book too!
